Jake Browning of the Bengals called for a Steroid Test following his Role in the team's comeback Victory

Since stepping in for Joe Burrow, Jake Browning has displayed a striking resemblance to the former. Browning, a product of Washington, assumed the quarterback position on November 16, taking over from Burrow after he suffered a wrist ligament tear.

Far from fitting the mold of a typical backup quarterback, Browning has consistently showcased a level of performance that defies that designation. Saturday's game possibly marked his most remarkable display yet.

Guiding the Cincinnati Bengals to a remarkable 27-24 overtime victory, Jake Browning exhibited exceptional leadership, especially considering they were trailing by two touchdowns at one point.

Despite going undrafted as a free agent, Browning has unmistakably captured the attention of the entire league with his noteworthy performances.

Post-game, Browning took to his Instagram story to reveal an unexpected development. He shared a message from an NFL employee indicating that he was selected for a urine test to check for performance-enhancing drugs.

The text read, "This is Joe, DCO on behalf of the NFL. You’re on my list for a urine steroid test tomorrow. I will be in the testing area from 9:30-12:30. Please confirm you are receiving this." Notably, this message was sent at 4:34 p.m. ET, approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

In the four games where he served as a starter, Browning boasts an impressive record of 3-1, showcasing a remarkable completion rate of 75.9%. His passing proficiency has translated to 1,180 yards and six touchdowns.

Following the recent victory, the Bengals catapulted from the 10th seed in the AFC to a coveted No. 6 spot, securing a playoff position.

While Browning did experience a sole defeat as a starter against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12, an opportunity for redemption awaits in the upcoming weekend.

The Steelers, currently facing uncertainty at the quarterback position, witnessed Mitch Trubisky being replaced by Mason Rudolph in the fourth quarter during their recent loss to the Indianapolis Colts. This defeat shifted the Steelers from the seventh seed in the AFC to the 12th position, adding an element of intrigue to their upcoming clash with Browning and the Bengals.

However, should the Bengals falter in the upcoming matchup against the Steelers, Pittsburgh would leapfrog ahead of them based on tiebreaker rules.

In the recent triumph, Browning delivered a stellar performance, completing 29 out of 42 passes for an impressive 324 yards.
