In response to recent set pictures causing a buzz on the internet, Ryan Reynolds, the actor known for his role as the wisecracking Marvel antihero with superhuman regenerative healing abilities, shared his thoughts.

Taking to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the 47-year-old actor addressed the leaks, emphasizing the significance of surprises in the magic of theatrical movies. Reynolds stated, “It’s important for us to shoot the new Deadpool film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone.”
This week, news about the film,
including rumored set images featuring the villain Sabretooth battling Deadpool
and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, surfaced on the internet, unexpectedly revealing
spoilers to fans.
Given that, at present, “Deadpool3” is the only MCU film scheduled for release in 2024, following the postponement of “Captain America: Brave New World,” “Thunderbolts,” and “Blade” to 2025, the anticipation for glimpses of the movie is understandable.
The Marvel star expressed his
desire that websites and social channels will exercise restraint in sharing
images before they are officially ready, especially now that the film has
resumed production after the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“The film is built for audience joy ― and our highest hope is to
preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big
screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I
realize these aren’t real-world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’
bucket,” Reynolds concluded in his post.
The film, unofficially titled “Deadpool 3,” is scheduled for release on July 26, 2024.
