The singer-rapper, who is featured on Swift's track "Fortnight" from her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, which was released on Friday, expressed his gratitude and admiration for Swift.
"It's a rare occurrence for someone like @taylorswift to grace this world," Malone wrote. "I am amazed by your compassion and intelligence, and I am incredibly honored to have been invited to join you on your journey. I love you immensely. Thank you, Tay."
In the music video for the song, Post Malone portrays Swift's former lover, with the video depicting her as trapped and him attempting to rescue her at one point. Swift even sports matching face tattoos with Malone in one scene.
Swift had previously lauded Malone for his contributions to the album's lead single, expressing on social media, "For me, this video turned out to be the perfect visual representation of this record and the stories I tell in it. @postmalone blew me away on set as our tortured tragic hero and I’m so grateful to him for everything he put into this collaboration."
In the "Fortnight" music video, Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles, known for their roles in Dead Poets Society, made surprise appearances as scientists conducting experiments on Swift.
Hawke expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the project and for collaborating with the "All Too Well" singer on Instagram. He wrote, "'Todd' & 'Knox' from DEAD POETS SOCIETY are now PhDs in THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. It’s quite an honor."
Charles, on the other hand, found keeping his appearance a secret challenging, admitting, "I don’t like keeping secrets and didn’t even tell my kids until the other day."
In his social media post, along with a selfie featuring Hawke, Charles remarked, "Here’s a couple of tortured old poets about to board an early flight to be pop stars for a day. Been through a lot with this dude over the years, but safe to say this was a most memorable day. We were treated with such class by Taylor and her crew from beginning to end. What I’ll remember most was the laughter. There was a lot of it. Like we were 17 all over again."
Swift also seemed to share the sentiment, previously noting, "still laughing from getting to work with the coolest guys on earth, @ethanhawke and @mrjoshcharles (tortured poets, meet your colleagues from down the hall, the dead poets)."
On Friday, the singer dropped The Tortured Poets Department, a 16-track album, along with a surprise "double album" expansion, The Anthology, featuring 15 additional songs.
The album made waves on Spotify, breaking several records by becoming the platform's most-streamed album in a single day. Additionally, Swift claimed the title of the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.
