Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone Advocate for Kevin Spacey's Hollywood Comeback: 'He Is a Genius'

Liam Neeson and Sharon Stone have joined Stephen Fry and F. Murray Abraham in expressing support for Kevin Spacey's potential return to Hollywood this week. Their comments follow the emergence of new allegations against Spacey in the recent documentary, Spacey Unmasked.

"Kevin is a good man and a man of character," Neeson told The Telegraph, expressing that he was "deeply saddened" by the new accusations against the House of Cards actor.

Spacey has been absent from Hollywood since multiple men accused him of sexual misconduct starting in 2017. In 2022, a New York jury found him not liable in the assault of actor Anthony Rapp, and last summer, he was acquitted of nine charges in London. Several other lawsuits have also been dropped, with Spacey denying all allegations. However, this month, 10 more men came forward with claims of abuse in Spacey Unmasked, a two-part Channel 4 documentary directed by Katherine Haywood.

I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings,” Spacey wrote on X, formerly Twitter, criticizing the producers of Spacey Unmasked for not giving him a chance to respond.

Neeson further expressed his support, stating that Spacey is “one of our finest artists in the theater and on camera. Personally speaking, our industry needs him and misses him greatly.

Stone echoed these sentiments, saying, “I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work. He is a genius. He is so elegant and fun, generous to a fault and knows more about our craft than most of us ever will.

Stone also mentioned that it was evident young actors "wanted and want to be around him," adding, "It’s terrible that they are blaming him for not being able to come to terms with themselves for using him and negotiating with themselves because they didn’t get their secret agendas."

Abraham expressed his unwavering support, stating, "I would vouch for [Spacey] unequivocally. Who are these vultures who attack a man who has publicly accepted his responsibility for certain behavior, unlike so many others? He is a fine man. I stand with him, and let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

Fry criticized the documentary, saying, "To continue to harass and hound [Spacey], to devote a whole documentary to accusations that simply do not add up to crimes… how can that be considered proportionate and justified?"
