Mind-Blowing! ‘Mickey 17’ Trailer Shows Robert Pattinson DYING Over and Over – You Won’t Believe This Sci-Fi Thriller!

To all the Mickeys facing death, we honor you. Robert Pattinson repeatedly meets his demise in the first trailer for Mickey 17, the highly anticipated follow-up to Bong Joon Ho's Oscar-winning film Parasite.

In this movie, Pattinson portrays Mickey Barnes, a space colonist classified as an expendable. Expendables are assigned the colony’s most perilous tasks, frequently resulting in their deaths, only to be resurrected using human printing technology.

Edward Ashton first introduced this concept in his 2022 novel Mickey 7, which focuses on the seventh incarnation of Mickey Barnes. However, in the film adaptation, the number has been increased to 17.

At CinemaCon in April, Bong humorously explained, "The number represents how many times he dies. I killed him 10 more times." He added, “Although it’s a sci-fi film, it’s ultimately a human story.”

Pattinson plays both Mickey 17 and Mickey 18 throughout most of the film. During CinemaCon, Pattinson noted that he gave each version distinct traits. Mickey 17 is worn out by life but remains content with being part of the team, while Mickey 18 is like a “wild, out-of-control” evil twin.

Fans have eagerly awaited the trailer, as the film was initially set for release in March 2024 but was delayed to January 31, 2025, due to post-production issues. The new release date caught many by surprise, as it moves Mickey 17 outside the awards season spotlight that Parasite had previously dominated.

The movie also stars Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun, Naomie Ackie, and Toni Collette. In a recent interview with Reporter, Ackie shared her thoughts on the project: "It’s a mix of intense emotions and a very different tone from what I’ve done before, so I’m a bit nervous to see it and hope I’ve struck the right balance."
