The event featured key members of the cast and crew, including Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe, along with executive producers and stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan. Cast members Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, and Dascha Polanco also participated in the panel, where they confirmed that season two of Dead City is slated for release in spring 2025.

They also treated fans to a 30-second teaser that began with a provocative question: after everything that has transpired, why would anyone want to revive Manhattan?

The teaser provided a glimpse into what lies ahead for beloved characters Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they traverse a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, isolated from the mainland.

In the clip, Negan teases, "You’re in for a bit of a shock," before asserting, "Power is power," while lights illuminate iconic New York landmarks like Radio City, hinting at a brewing power struggle with Negan and Maggie possibly on opposing sides. AMC and AMC+ have hinted that the new season will blend chaos, danger, beauty, and fear in equal measures.

Following the Dead City panel, Scott M. Gimple, along with executive producer and showrunner David Zabel, director and executive producer Greg Nicotero, executive producers and stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, and cast member Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, joined a nearly hour-long discussion moderated by Robert Rodriguez about the current season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.

The audience got a preview of the opening moments of the fourth episode, set to air on Sunday, Oct. 20, on AMC and AMC+. The second season continues directly from where the first left off, following Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) as they confront past challenges. Carol is on a mission to find her friend, while Daryl grapples with his decision to remain in France.
