Fox Renews 'The Cleaning Lady' for Season 4: What's Next for the Gripping Drama?

Fox has officially renewed the crime drama The Cleaning Lady for a fourth season, as confirmed by The Morfeli team.

However, along with the renewal comes a change in leadership. Executive producers and showrunners Miranda Kwok and Jeannine Renshaw will not be continuing in their roles. Kwok, who developed the series, will remain involved as an executive consultant. She intends to shift her focus to developing new programs with Warner Bros. Television. The search for a new showrunner is currently underway, and an announcement regarding the new leadership is expected in the coming weeks.

The Cleaning Lady is based on the original Argentine series and follows the story of Thony De La Rosa, portrayed by Élodie Yung. Thony is a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon living in Las Vegas with her 5-year-old son Luca on an expired visa. She works as a cleaning service worker with her sister-in-law, Fiona, played by Martha Millan.

After witnessing a murder, Thony is offered a job by a criminal organization to work as both a cleaner and a doctor, promising a lucrative income that could benefit her son and family. Thony begins living a double life, keeping her criminal activities a secret from her family while cleaning up crime scenes and avoiding the law.

The cast also includes Eva De Dominici, Kate Del Castillo, Santiago Cabrera, Sean Lew, Faith Bryant, and Sebastien & Valentino LaSalle.

The announcement of the renewal comes after the passing of one of the show's stars, Adam Canto, who died in January from appendiceal cancer at the age of 42. The actor had not publicly disclosed his diagnosis.

Fox highlights The Cleaning Lady as one of the most diverse series on television, with a cast that includes actors of Cambodian, Filipino, Chinese, Mexican, Argentinian, and Chilean descent, among others. It is the first Southeast Asian-led drama series and the first to feature a lead of Cambodian descent.

The show has been performing well, averaging 3.6 million multiplatform viewers this season, marking a significant increase of +131% from Live + Same Day viewership. The two-hour Season 3 finale is set to air on May 21.

The Cleaning Lady is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment. Rose Marie Vega and Paola Suarez serve as executive producers, while Shay Mitchell and David Dean Portelli are executive consultants.
